Choosing a well-made pair
of trousers is like money in the bank. It will improve your equity!
Trousers made from natural fibers i.e. wool etc. last longer and require
less dry cleaning. This is because natural fibers help the garment to
breathe and allows evaporation of any perspiration. Blends such as
poly/wool have similar benefits.
When not wearing your trousers, hang them up as soon as possible. This
helps them resist wrinkles.
Trouser
Length
The length of your trousers should break slightly on the front part of
your shoe. The hem should be slanted on an angle and break where the heel
and the sole meet.
Regular and Long rise
Trousers are usually sold in two different "rise" measurements, regular
and long. The long rise is also referred to as "Tall sizes". The rise is
the length from the crotch to the waist. This allows the waist band to
reach the navel. A man 6" or taller would probably prefer a long rise for
a more comfortable fit.
Kinds of Trousers
a)Dress Trousers
Formal trousers are something whose charm will never wear off. What with
conventional dogtooth checked trousers, elegant pockets and flat fronts.
b) Casual Pants
Khakis, the type whose colors don't fade even after many washings, make a
perfect bridge between dress pants and casual. Then there are Chinos, the
flat-fronted trouser with no pleats and pockets which add elegance to the
young adventurous spirit, from Chicago to Cairo to Calcutta.
